Nancy Wilson is best known as the guitar-playing siren of the rock band Heart. But not only is the girl the most accomplished female acoustic guitarist, she also happens to possess a voice that can onlybe compared to that of an Angel. She is often overlooked for her vocal talents but when given the chance, her voice is quite simply: heavenly.
One half of the hard rockin' Wilson sisters, Nancy along with her sister Ann have been breaking down barriers for women since the mid-70s with Heart's first studio album "Dreamboat Annie", and have been a sexy, feminine force to reckoned with ever since.
Heart's 3 decade + career continued with 11 studio albums and their first #1 single, "These Dreams", with Nancy on lead vocals. She also founded The Lovemongers with Ann, longtime friend and co writer Sue Ennis and friend Frank Cox. Their exquisite cover of "Battle of Evermore" for the film 'Singles' was released in 1991 and in 1997 they recorded "Whirlygig", which features more of Nancy's lead and harmony vocals than any Heart album to date.
In 1999 Nancy released her first (and thus far only) solo album, "Live at McCabes". It featured an all acoustic set recorded at a music store in 1996. She has also composed several film scores for her husband Cameron Crowe's films including 'Vanilla Sky' and 'Elizabethtown'.
But in the end, it's all about the Heart. ♥
Hello and welcome to my Nancy Wilson site! My name is Nikayla and I will be your devoted webmistress. I have been a fan of Heart since birth...before actually. I am blessed with a Mom who brought this music into my world before I was even born. My love of Heart started when she was about 4 months pregnant with me, and saw them on the last leg of the Bad Animals tour in 1988. From that moment, I was a Monger through and through. Where I have always believed Ann to be the greatest singer in Rock n Roll, period, I have always had this unexplainbale connection to Nancy. Maybe it's the guitar player in me, maybe its her nerdiness so out and proud. Whatever it is, she is my #1 love. :D
I will be posting photos, articles, interviews, news, artwork, videos, audio and more! I hope you enjoy my site as much as I enjoy making it for you! :)
